TIOMAN PROSE III

A short comical piece of exposition inspired by the Secondary Three GEP Multiple Intelligences Trip to Pulau Tioman in Malaysia in March 2003. The students spent four days and three nights studying the various ecosystems first hand.

THE MOST PREDICTABLE CHARACTER ON THE TRIP

My nomination for the Most Predictable Character is Wong Zi Cheng. He is my choice due to several reasons.

Firstly, Wong Zi Cheng always eats quickly and always finishes up faster at lunch and dinner. This is one predictable part of Wong Zi Cheng on the Tioman trip.

The second is interlinked to the first. The second may be the result or stimulus for the first. That is Wong Zi Cheng always, finishing first, speeds to the fruit table and loots a large mountain of watermelon pieces for dessert. This is the second predictable part of Wong Zi Cheng's character throughout the trip.

The third reason is partly due to the nature of Wong Zi Cheng and his personality. He is normally thrifty, and usually uses freebies like coupons and disposable stuff. On the Tioman trip, as I foresaw, Wong Zi Cheng brought along at least 3 disposable cameras given away by a bank. Surprisingly, these disposable cameras have flash!

Fourthly, as I foresaw already after the first night of the camp, Wong Zi Cheng is one of the first to go to sleep, and one of the very first to wake. Another part of this is that he always wakes up and walks around the chalets with a disposable camera and a cap, on the way meeting anybody and then asking that person for the favor of taking his photograph for him. I was that person thrice.

Therefore, all these reasons of mine point out that he should be awarded The Most Predictable Character on the Tioman Trip. Bravo, Zi Cheng!
